Marketing & Events Manager
Primary Purpose
The Marketing & Events Manager serves as the lead coordinator for Friendswood ISD Education Foundation (FEF) marketing, communications, community engagement, and fundraising events. This position develops and executes strategies that increase awareness, enhance the Foundation’s brand, and support revenue growth through high-quality communications and exceptional event experiences.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience: Marketing, communications, event management, nonprofit development, or related experience required
Special Knowledge/Skills: Event planning and fundraising experience, strong relationship-building skills, strong graphic design, social media management, and website content management skills, strong photography and video production skills preferred, strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational, project management, and time management skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
Major Responsibilities & Duties
Event Management: Partner with the Executive Director to lead planning and execution of Foundation fundraising events, including the Gala, Sporting Clays Tournament, New Employee Luncheon, FEF Field Trips, and other Board-approved events. Coordinate event logistics and execution, including venue and vendor management, décor, food and beverage service, awards, giveaways, event materials, and other operational components. Coordinate event participation and guest engagement, including volunteer coordination, guest registration and communications, team rosters, and the overall attendee experience. Coordinate all aspects of in-kind donations, including procurement, packaging, promotion, display, and distribution of door prizes, auction packages, and raffle items. Evaluate event performance and recommend improvements for future growth and effectiveness.
Marketing & Communications: Develop and implement an annual Marketing and Communications Plan aligned with FEF's goals, supporting Foundation events, campaigns, and programs. Manage FEF digital communications, including social media, website, and email marketing. Design, produce, and distribute marketing materials, newsletters, and promotional collateral for Foundation events, campaigns, and programs. Draft press releases and media content highlighting Foundation programs and impact. Coordinate photography and videography to showcase donor impact and student success.
Brand Management: Develop FEF Brand Guidelines and maintain consistency of branding and messaging across all communications platforms. Monitor marketing analytics and engagement metrics to evaluate effectiveness and guide future strategies.
General Responsibilities
Attend monthly Foundation Board meetings and participate in Foundation events, committee meetings, and other activities, including some held during evenings and weekends.
Maintain professional, customer service-driven interactions (written and verbal) with all internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate confidentiality, integrity, and sound judgment.
Maintain punctuality and regular, reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
