About the role
The Marketing Community Outreach Specialist is responsible for leading activities to achieve membership/enrollment goals through various means including marketing projects, new market initiatives, health fairs, community activities, training, member retention activities, sales visibility, business, broker, provider, market, lead generation, vendor outreach, and networking opportunities. This position may also research and assess market and business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, coordinates, collaborates, and conducts events including meetings, presentations, activities, training, product orientations, focus groups, field marketing events, and projects.
- Develops and maintains business relationships and information that will result in opportunities to increase membership/enrollment targets.
- Represents the department at internal and external meetings including vendor reporting, departmental, cross-functional, community, and provider meetings.
- Delivers presentations including sales, broker product training, member retention meetings, new member training, and outreach activities.
- Acts as department liaison for market materials, collateral rollouts, inventory, and reports.
- Acts as point person on key projects.
- Prospects and initiates opportunities for field marketing events, grassroots lead generation, provider co-op events, and other community venues.
- Coordinates with the sales team for successful market execution.
- May develop plans to increase “crossover” enrollment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of sales/marketing experience, preferably with government products.
- Health insurance or managed care experience a plus.
- Driver’s License is required.
- Life and Health License (can be obtained within 60 days of employment).
Preferred Qualifications
- Active and current life and health Insurance license in good standing required or is required to be obtained and appointed within sixty (60) days of hire.
