About the role
The Marketing / Outreach Specialist is responsible for community outreach, networking, and marketing efforts under the supervision of the Outreach Coordinator or designee. This role includes educating clients, businesses, and schools about the services offered by Castle Family Health Centers (CFHC).
Responsibilities
- Develop marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Conduct market research and analyze findings.
- Participate in health fairs and community events.
- Set up promotional displays, booths, and informational tables.
- Work weekends or evenings for Castle Health fairs or outreach events.
- Network with medical offices, schools, and public agencies.
- Plan and execute outreach projects with the department coordinator.
- Educate clients, businesses, and schools about CFHC services.
- Participate in local and surrounding community health fairs (including equipment setup).
- Support special projects and information-sharing initiatives.
- Create product/service descriptions and support strategic branding.
- Forecast and strategically plan outreach to improve service profitability.
- Collaborate with internal/external teams, including various committees, through face-to-face meetings to meet community engagement goals.
Reports directly to the Outreach Coordinator or designee on a weekly basis or as needed. Projects require approval by the Outreach Coordinator prior to engaging with supervisors. Performance plan will be updated yearly for growth.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework in public relations, organization/human resources, or related field.
- One year of experience in outreach, community engagement, or public relations; directly related experience may substitute for education.
- Must be a self-starter with an outgoing but professional personality.
- Computer skills required (word processing, publishing software).
- Valid driver’s license, current DMV record, and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Ability to read, write, and fluently speak Spanish and English.
- Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Strong reasoning ability: define problems, collect data, evaluate facts, and draw logical conclusions.
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Certified application assistor is a plus.
Physical demands
- Must be able to drive own vehicle to various locations.
- Substantial demand for seeing (close vision, color perception), hearing, clear speech, touching, sitting, and flexibility.
- Limited demand for smelling, walking, carrying (up to 20 pounds), and bending.
- Minimal demands for lifting (up to 30 pounds), pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, stooping, squatting, standing, and running.
- Heavy demand for face-to-face interaction.
Work environment
- Moderate noise level.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts (e.g., event equipment).
- Frequent verbal interaction with staff, clients, and community members.
