Position Summary

The Marketing Communications Specialist supports Boston Children's strategic Marketing Communications plans by implementing marketing strategies and tactics aimed at various key constituencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determines and manages project workflow from concept to completion and delivers on time and on budget. Projects may include the development of marketing collateral, publications, advertisements, Web sites, press releases, direct mail campaigns, promotional items, videos, podcasts, Webcasts and coordination of conferences and events.

  • Quality assurance brand - Responsible for integrity of projects including accuracy of information, parental consents, adherence to legal specifications, graphic standards and hospital brand, proper licensing, trademarking, and production quality.

  • Communication and teamwork - Works collaboratively with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications Department and internal clients to define, strategize, organize, supervise and execute marketing projects that are aligned with strategic marketing plans.

  • Vendor management - Acts as liaison to and manages external vendors which may include advertising agencies, media agencies, PR agencies, list vendors, printers and consultants.

  • Targeting analysis - Works with database team to refine targeting, create referring mailing lists and measure response rates. Regularly audits results and effectiveness of marketing communications efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors Degree required

  • Experience: 1 year of marketing communications experience is required

Pay and Benefits

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this position at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
