Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field, with experience in writing, content creation, social media, and print or digital publication design.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, grammar, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff, alumni, donors, and prospective families.
  • Knowledge of journalistic writing, publication design, and AP style.
  • Experience creating engaging content for social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Canva and Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) preferred.
  • Experience capturing and editing high-quality photography.
  • Experience producing and editing short-form video content for digital communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging written, visual, and multimedia content that highlights student experiences, faculty excellence, school traditions, and community life.
  • Write and edit content for the School's website, newsletters, social media channels, magazine, and other print and digital publications.
  • Aid with website updates and content management to ensure information is current, accurate, and engaging.
  • Help maintain consistent messaging and visual identity across all communications.
  • Photograph school events, classrooms, performances, athletic competitions, and other campus activities.
  • Capture video content for use across social media, the website, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Design and produce promotional materials, advertisements, brochures, invitations, and other collateral.
  • Support production of the School's magazine, newsletters, and other institutional publications.
  • Assist with marketing projects supporting admissions, advancement, athletics, and other school initiatives.
  • Attend select school events, including occasional evenings and weekends, to gather photography, video, and stories.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

This is a full-time, 12-month position. Occasionally (but not regularly), evening or weekend work is required to support school events and community activities.
