GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day development, coordination, and execution of assigned marketing and communications initiatives across social media, digital, print, website, community outreach, and organizational channels. Working collaboratively with the Marketing Consultant, the Specialist creates engaging content, maintains accurate and consistent communications, and coordinates multiple projects within established priorities, messaging, and brand standards.The Marketing Consultant provides strategic direction, prioritization, brand guidance, and subject-matter expertise. The Specialist translates that direction into timely and effective marketing and communications deliverables that promote CMU Health’s services and initiatives. PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:The approximate allocation of responsibilities is:· 50% – Social Media & Content Creation/Management: Develop, schedule, publish, monitor, and evaluate social media and digital content in collaboration with the Marketing Consultant.· 30% – Marketing & Communication Materials: Develop and update rack cards, flyers, posters, brochures, provider communications, press releases, newsletters, and other print and digital materials consistent with established messaging and brand direction.· 10% – Website Content Management: Maintain and update provider, clinic, service, location, and organizational website content, coordinating with the Marketing Consultant and appropriate internal teams as needed.· 5% – Photography & Visual Content: Capture physician and employee headshots, organizational events, community activities, and other marketing-related photography and visual content. Digital camera experience preferred.· 5% – Other Marketing Support: Support events, community outreach, vendor coordination, special projects, and other marketing and communications priorities as assigned.Percentages are approximate and may fluctuate based on organizational priorities and marketing needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:· Develop and draft content for internal newsletters, website updates, press releases, new provider communications, social media, and other organizational communications in collaboration with the Marketing Consultant.· Maintain and grow CMU Health’s social media presence using platform-specific tools, including creating and scheduling posts and engaging with followers to improve reach and engagement.· Monitor social media engagement, comments, messages, reviews, and reputation channels; respond in accordance with approved protocols; escalate patient-specific, sensitive, or reputational matters as appropriate; and use analytics to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.· Create and update marketing and communication materials, including brochures, flyers, rack cards, posters, provider materials, newsletters, email campaigns, and other print and digital content.· Apply established branding and messaging to marketing materials and ensure consistency with organizational brand standards and guidelines.· Create, update, and coordinate website content, including clinic, provider, service, location, and organizational information, working with the Marketing Consultant and appropriate internal teams to ensure information remains accurate and current.· Capture and coordinate organizational photography and visual content, including physician and employee headshots, events, programs, community activities, and other organizational initiatives to support marketing, communications, recruitment, and promotional needs.· Assist in the planning, organization, promotion, and execution of community events, health fairs, organizational initiatives, and internal programs. This may include occasional evening and weekend work.· Coordinate communications with vendors and community partners related to marketing initiatives and events, including outreach, registration information, promotional materials, and follow-up communications.· Coordinate with internal departments, providers, leaders, and other stakeholders to obtain information and content necessary to support marketing and communication initiatives.· Track assigned projects, priorities, and deadlines and communicate progress, needs, or potential delays to the appropriate stakeholders.· Provide project and administrative support related to marketing and communications activities, including preparing reports, maintaining materials, and assisting with special projects. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:No supervisory responsibilities. WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:· Work is performed in a combination of office, clinical, community, and event settings. The role routinely uses a computer and other office equipment and may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or working at a workstation.· The position requires the ability to move throughout CMU Health locations and community/event venues; attend and document events; operate photography and video equipment; and occasionally lift, carry, position, or transport marketing materials and equipment.· Occasional evening and weekend work and local travel may be required.· Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. QUALIFICATIONS:· Associate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.· Minimum of two (2) years of relevant marketing, communications, social media, digital media, or related professional experience preferred; healthcare experience a plus.· Demonstrated experience creating content for social media and digital platforms.· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.· Experience with social media management, analytics, website content management, email marketing, and digital communications preferred.· Photography and/or digital camera experience preferred.· Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and communication channels.· Ability to proactively and independently manage multiple assigned projects, anticipate needs, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively with internal and external partners.· Strong organizational skills, creativity, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.· Ability to work collaboratively, receive strategic and creative guidance, and translate direction into effective marketing and communication deliverables.
