The Marketing and Communications Specialist supports social media, website, and email communications that strengthen awareness of UEN and UTN services and initiatives. Working as part of a collaborative team, this role helps engage audiences, support events, analyze campaign performance, and advance UETN’s mission. The ideal candidate is a positive, detail-oriented team player with a working knowledge of social media and design.
Responsibilities
- Works with a team to develop and implement marketing campaigns across social media, email, and print channels.
- Creates campaign assets using Canva or similar design software.
- Monitors and evaluates campaign performance using key metrics and makes recommendations as needed.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support organizational goals.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to established timelines and project requirements.
- Coordinates the design, printing, mailing, and distribution of promotional materials.
- Writes and edits marketing and communications content, including support for the creation and publication of UEN and UTN monthly newsletters.
- Assists with planning, promotion, and staffing events that support UEN and UTN initiatives.
- Develops a calendar for social media campaigns and initiatives to ensure constant interaction and engagement with customers and prospects.
- Collaborates with external partners/vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns.
- Assists in analyzing marketing data to help shape future marketing strategies.
Qualifications
Marketing Communication Specialist, I (Entry-Level): Requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) plus 2 years of directly related work experience, or a master’s degree (or equivalency).
Marketing Communication Specialist, II (Developing-Level): Requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) plus 4 years of directly related work experience, or a master’s degree (or equivalency) plus 2 years of directly related work experience.
Equivalency Statement: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (e.g., bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Preferences
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet multiple, and often competing, deadlines.
- Experience with digital marketing, including campaign analytics and performance reporting.
- Working knowledge of Asana, Emma, and Hootsuite or similar project management and marketing platforms.
- Graphic design experience, particularly with Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
- Experience creating and editing short-form video content.
Pay
$40,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
