About the Role

Responsibilities

• Security Guard: Protect the works of art in the museum and ensure the safety of guests. Be alert to visitor activities, report concerns to the Facilities/Security manager, and be present when scheduled.
• Visitor Services Staff: Facilitate a successful visitor experience by providing high-quality customer service, greeting visitors, selling admission, programs, classes, and memberships, answering phone calls, engaging with visitors, handling questions and complaints, and monitoring guest compliance with museum safety and visitor protocols.
• Maintenance Assistant: Support the maintenance of the museum and grounds, including the care and handling of artworks. The ideal candidate should have a hands-on skill set, respect for delicate materials, and be comfortable in a fast-paced, creative environment.
• Marketing Assistant: Play a key role in museum communications and marketing, supporting and developing the overall museum story through successful marketing campaigns and creative visual assets.
• Weekend Cleaning Staff: Clean the main floor, Visitor Services, Reception Hall, and bathrooms at Cameron Art Museum on weekends.

Requirements

• Security Guard: Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Visitor Services Staff: Must have strong customer service skills, be friendly, organized, and able to multitask.
• Maintenance Assistant: Must have a hands-on skill set, respect for delicate materials, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
• Marketing Assistant: Must have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and be proficient in graphic design software.
• Weekend Cleaning Staff: Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Security Guard: High school diploma or equivalent, and previous experience in a security-related field.
• Visitor Services Staff: High school diploma or equivalent, and experience in customer service or hospitality.
• Maintenance Assistant: High school diploma or equivalent, and experience in maintenance or related field.
• Marketing Assistant: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, and proficiency in graphic design software.
• Weekend Cleaning Staff: High school diploma or equivalent, and experience in cleaning or related field.

• Security Guard: Patience, attention to detail, ability to remain calm under pressure, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Visitor Services Staff: Excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a positive attitude.
• Maintenance Assistant: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Marketing Assistant: Proficiency in graphic design software, strong communication skills, and creativity.
• Weekend Cleaning Staff: Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and a positive attitude.

Benefits

Pay

• Security Guard: $15 per hour
• Visitor Services Staff: $14 per hour

Schedule

• Part-time positions offer flexible schedules, typically 15 to 20 hours per week for Security Guard, 10 hours per week for Visitor Services Staff, 20 hours per week for Maintenance Assistant, and varying hours for Marketing Assistant and Weekend Cleaning Staff.
