Marketing and Communications Manager

About the role

The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to support campaigns, digital content, member communications, multimedia projects, awards programs, and analytics that promote AARC, its educational products, meetings, and the respiratory care profession.

Responsibilities

  • Build and support member e-newsletters, including AARC News, RC Buzz, Specialty Sections, Career News, and other emails as needed.
  • Write targeted content for news stories, emails, websites, marketing campaigns, and member communications that capture attention and inspire action.
  • Collaborate with Membership, Education, Business Development, Meetings, and other departments to ensure content is accurate, timely, consistent, and aligned with AARC goals.
  • Create and update outreach toolkits, email templates, marketing lists, reports, and campaign materials.
  • Post content and promotions in our online community AARConnect to engage members and share important announcements.
  • Assist with developing website content, including posting and editing stories, images, and general content.
  • Support multimedia projects, including video content development, podcast production, and promotion.
  • Help manage AARC awards programs, advertising deliverables, sponsor-related project details, and outside meeting exhibit coordination.
  • Track email performance, attend required meetings and events, and complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of professional association or nonprofit experience required; healthcare organization experience preferred.
  • Creative thinker and strong writer with the ability to develop compelling, clear, and action-oriented content.
  • Practical understanding of communications and marketing best practices, AP style, brand standards, SEO, web publishing, and WordPress or similar platforms.
  • Strong project management, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, take initiative, and collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including SharePoint/OneDrive, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, AMS/CRM systems, simple video editing software, Asana or other project management tools, and Informz/Higher Logic or similar marketing email automation platforms are all a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and reside in a state other than California or be willing to relocate outside of California.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $54,000-$57,000, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid work schedule (in office 2 days, remote 3 days) if located in the Dallas, TX area or fully remote.
  • Paid time off includes ample vacation, sick, and personal hours plus 12 paid holidays.
  • Office closed between Christmas and New Year’s (paid time).

Pay

  • $54,000 - $57,000 annually
