About the role

As a marketing agent, you are responsible for promoting cemetery services, conducting community outreach, and supporting the Sales Manager through lead generation and appointment setting. In addition to marketing efforts, you are expected to handle basic administrative tasks, maintain accurate records, and assist with scheduling. Your role requires professionalism, compassion, and strong organizational skills to effectively engage with the community and provide essential support to the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing & Community Outreach: Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase awareness of cemetery services. Build relationships with local organizations, churches, and community groups. Represent the cemetery at events and networking opportunities. Contribute to social media engagement, assist with marketing materials, and identify new outreach initiatives to expand the customer base.
  • Sales Support & Appointment Scheduling: Generate and qualify leads, reach out to potential clients, and schedule appointments for the Sales Manager. Conduct consistent follow-up via phone, email, and in-person outreach. Maintain an organized database of prospects and track interactions to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in sales support.
  • Administrative Duties: Provide administrative support by managing appointment schedules, maintaining records, and preparing reports related to lead generation and marketing efforts. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries professionally and courteously.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; background in marketing, sales, or community outreach preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional and compassionate approach
  • Basic computer proficiency including familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar, etc.)
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community events and outreach

Additional considerations

  • Experience in the funeral, cemetery, or pre-planning industry is beneficial but not required
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus
  • Some evening or weekend hours may be required for events or appointments
