Market Research Analyst, Entertainment, Gaming, Sports & Tech
About the role
We are seeking passionate, curious, and motivated individuals to join NRG as Research Analysts, with start dates throughout Summer 2026. As part of our Client Services team, you will work alongside world-class researchers who bring deep industry expertise, a global perspective, and a passion for understanding consumers across entertainment, technology, gaming, sports, and lifestyle. Our teams partner with some of the world’s biggest brands to answer critical business questions that shape culture—from optimizing award-winning films, TV shows and games to enhancing everyday technology products and the marketing strategies that drive them forward.
Responsibilities
- Support all phases of quantitative and qualitative research projects, including research design, questionnaire and discussion guide development, data analysis and storytelling.
- Projects may include methods such as concept evaluation, brand studies, content optimization tests, messaging/positioning evaluation, creative materials tests, market sizing and segmentation.
- Leverage AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, among other emerging platforms, to streamline workflows, unlock new ways of thinking and elevate the quality and impact of our work.
- Drive quality control processes at each step of the research lifecycle, from checking survey programming logic, questionnaire proofing, number checking and proofing reports and presentations for accuracy.
- Translate data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations through visual, creative and story-driven reports.
- Partner with internal and external operations teams (programming, fieldwork, facilities, moderators, data processing) to drive projects forward on stringent timelines.
- Aid in translating data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations through highly visual, creative and story-driven presentations.
Requirements
- Prior internship or work experience in market research or consumer insights is a plus, but not required.
- If you don’t have relevant work experience, we would love to hear about academic qualitative or quantitative research projects, such as primary survey research, experimental psychology studies, social media analysis, ethnographic research, or any other relevant projects.
- You have (or are about to graduate with) a B.A./B.S. degree in areas such as Social Sciences, Psychology, Business, Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Economics or a related field.
- Enthusiasm for adopting AI tools to optimize workflows, paired with the strong judgement and critical thinking needed to validate AI outputs.
- Genuinely interested in seeking information on the “whys,” always digging for more information to understand what makes consumers tick.
- Data Driven – You’re comfortable working with structured and unstructured data to identify trends, uncover insights, and tell a clear story.
- Experience visualizing data in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Google Slides is preferred.
- Familiarity with statistical packages such as SPSS or Q is a plus, as is exposure to techniques such as statistical significance testing, correlation analysis, multivariate analysis, cluster/segmentation analysis, conjoint analysis, or discrete choice modeling.
- Writing and Storytelling – You know how to connect the dots and turn complex research findings into clear, compelling narratives.
- A passion or desire to learn about entertainment, technology, gaming, sports and/or lifestyle sectors.
- Self-starter – Internally-motivated who continuously strives to get things done well, regardless of challenges encountered.
- Straightforward and Proactive Communicator – You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are able to communicate clearly and succinctly.
- Hawk-eyed attention to detail – You notice when font sizes change unexpectedly or a proper noun isn’t capitalized. Errors don’t get past you and you are always focused on ensuring high levels of quality control and reporting.
- Problem Solver – You are a natural problem solver. When something doesn’t go as planned, your first instinct is to look for a solution, rather than viewing it as a roadblock.
- Expert multitasker – Successfully manages time and multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met.
- Great Team Member – Team player who works collaboratively and harmoniously within a team and across teams.
