About the role

At Capital One’s Business Cards & Payments group, you will lead a team of sellers within Northern California and Oregon, driving revenue and financial objectives for the market. This role requires a builder’s mindset, focusing on long-term relationships with small and mid-sized business owners to understand their B2B wallet and optimize rewards and benefits. As a Local Market Leader (LML), you will report to the Regional Vice President of Regional Sales and be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training, and coaching Relationship Managers while fostering a high-performance sales culture.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver superior growth and profitability by meeting or exceeding targets in purchase volume, new account acquisition, account penetration, profit, cost, and productivity while ensuring outstanding customer and associate experiences.
  • Provide sales leadership, direction, and program management within your team.
  • Build a dynamic sales culture aligned with the broader Field strategy to achieve account acquisition and purchase volume goals.
  • Participate in strategic and tactical planning with the National Sales leadership team to drive growth, market share, revenue, cross-sell, sales force productivity, targeted market penetration, customer retention, and profit goals.
  • Ensure all customer and prospect interactions comply with Capital One’s legal, compliance, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Champion partnerships with headquarters-based support teams and local Retail, Small Business Banking, and Commercial Bank relationships.
  • Select, orient, train, coach, develop, and motivate your team of Relationship Managers, including conducting joint work.
  • Partner with other Local Market Leaders to ensure consistent execution of sales strategies.
  • Champion voice-of-client and voice-of-associate feedback to support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate a deep passion for coaching and developing front-line sales professionals.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of outside business-to-business sales experience.
  • At least 3 years of sales management experience or at least 3 years of peer coaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management.
  • 6+ years of outside customer sales experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership role.
  • 5+ years of portfolio management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience partnering with Small Businesses.
  • 3+ years of financial industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com.

Pay

The annual salary range for this role in the Northern California and Oregon territory is $145,000 - $180,000. Candidates hired for other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with their location. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
