Market Engagement Lead, Community Impact & Investment
About the role
The Market Engagement Lead, Community Impact & Investment team is seeking a Manager with a background in managing community impact or social impact products or programs to join our Delaware team. This team is charged with deeply understanding challenges and opportunities in the Delaware geographies and bringing that market intelligence to bear to ensure we are investing in high impact programs with demonstrable outcomes and with partners to advance socioeconomic mobility in the community while maximizing impact for Capital One’s reputation and business agenda.
Responsibilities
- Provide thought leadership to identify and engage key community leaders in creating new approaches to pressing community needs.
- Be a critical go-to person for community leaders to help solve those needs.
- Conduct research and market scans to identify, analyze, and vet possible partners across a wide variety of community organizations including social and nonprofit organizations, activists, influencers, small business leaders, policymakers, CDFIs and other funding organizations or in-market financial services providers across the Delaware Valley market and beyond.
- Create and manage critical relationships with those players to understand how Capital One shows up in our communities relative to how we are supporting community needs and moving the needle on socioeconomic mobility.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the entire enterprise to monitor and evaluate risks.
- Create presentations and reports to bring market insights to CI&I, Global Enterprise Affairs, and other business lines to inform where, how and why Capital One makes market investments that advance its mission.
- Partner closely with your market team, your peers on our analytics program team, and other business lines to write proposals for new market investments.
- Manage and evaluate the relationships with the existing portfolio of Delaware Valley community partners and their associated grants. Ensure alignment to the investment strategy and review grant applications.
- Oversee and deliver reporting for your region to monitor Capital One’s community presence, sentiment, and the extent to which we are mobilizing COF resources (time, talent, dollars) to the place of most compelling community need. Tell the story of Capital One’s Delaware Valley investment strategy.
Requirements
- Impact-driven. Dream big and get energy from working with others with similar passions to accomplish big, bold goals.
- Wired for Collaboration and Connection: Thrive in a matrixed organization because you know that together we can do better. Obsessed with building and cultivating relationships. Love the chance to share your perspective, to hear the perspectives of others, and to figure out how teams can collaborate.
- Do-er. Biased toward action, try things and sometimes you fail. Can get around your own roadblocks and remove obstacles for your team to stay focused on enterprise goals.
- Intellectually Curious, with a strong Point of View. Ask why, explore, comfortable with ambiguity, hungry to learn and a seeker of new challenges. Use this curiosity to develop and refine your POVs.
