About the role
The Market Director Palliative Care will oversee the clinical and financial operations of Palliative Care Programs. They will assist in providing palliative care, ensuring comprehensive and personalized treatment plans, and demonstrating strong clinical skills and ethical judgment. They will also diagnose, treat, consult, and follow up on cases under the guidance of the Palliative Medical Director, if required by state law.
Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and evaluate goals and objectives for palliative care that align with high standards of clinical excellence and financial success.
- Meet and exceed growth and development targets in both clinical and financial areas.
- Manage all expenditures within the company's budget in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Employ qualified palliative care personnel and coordinate the provision of services.
- Delegating and coordinating personnel evaluations, collaborating with clinicians and/or Medical Directors to address patient needs.
- Maintain high standards of care and customer service in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide skilled professional nursing care to patients as directed by the MD/NP, adhering to state board regulations and company policies.
- Offer education and support to patients' families and caregivers.
Requirements
- Specialized Knowledge/Skills: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; strong organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, assertiveness, presentation, and communication abilities; knowledge of seriously ill patients and palliative care; meeting mandatory continuing education requirements; compliance with professional standards and practices; experience in home health, hospice, and palliative care; bachelor’s degree in nursing, business administration, or related field; master’s degree in business or related field preferred; certified in Hospice and Palliative Care preferred; prior experience with budgetary responsibilities including budget development and monitoring; understanding of Medicare/Medicaid, commercial insurance billing, and value-based care.
- Education/Experience: Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner with home health, hospice, and/or palliative care experience; bachelor’s degree in nursing, business administration, or related field; master’s degree in business or related field preferred; minimum of 2+ years health care administration/operations management experience; certified in Hospice and Palliative Care preferred; prior experience with budgetary responsibilities including budget development and monitoring; understanding of Medicare/Medicaid, commercial insurance billing, and value-based care.
- Training/Equipment: Fluent competence in computer and smartphone navigation; working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; reliable transportation for work; current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license; working knowledge of fleet program.
