About the role

The Market Director, Clinical Education is responsible for executing Tenet’s organizational educational strategic plan. They are a leader, mentor, consultant, and subject matter expert regarding education regulations and standards. The Director oversees market and facility clinical educators, department operations, and the coordination of educational activities. They work collaboratively with team members, department Directors, Medical Staff, hospital employees, and other organizational leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates market/facility/departmental activities in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and within Tenet corporate/facility policies;
  • Actively participates in interprofessional collaboration to achieve high patient/family satisfaction related to overall nursing quality of care, teamwork, and communication;
  • Ensures policies/procedures reflect current practice; validating that practice is current and evidenced-based;
  • Interviews, makes hiring recommendations, leads, manages, develops, and coaches staff;
  • Completes employee evaluations and maintain/updates department competencies;
  • Promotes professional development and encourages nursing staff to attain certification, and other activities that promote professional practice;
  • Works collaboratively with Tenet CI team to ensure projects and implementations are executed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Required - MSN and graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
  • Experience: Required - 5 years nursing experience, 3 years in a clinical leadership role;
  • Preferred - Teaching and staff development experience;
  • Certifications: Required - Current state licenses. AHA BLS.
