About the Role

As a Market Development Representative, you will be the key partner for off-premise locations (grocery stores, convenience stores, and liquor stores) to achieve volume and distribution sales goals for Sazerac’s diverse spirits portfolio. This role is based in Winter Haven or Lakeland, FL, and requires living in or near the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and implement innovative solutions to boost business for assigned accounts and increase market share for Sazerac brands.
  • Use consumer and category trends to educate customers, solve challenges, and drive sales.
  • Lead distributors with in-store selling, marketing, and account execution.
  • Help achieve volume objectives for core brands in the portfolio.
  • Implement and execute strategic programs focused on distribution, merchandising, display, and retail promotions.
  • Build mutually valuable relationships with assigned customers by understanding their needs.
  • Serve as the communication lead between key customers, wholesalers, and internal teams.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure goals are consistently met.

Job responsibilities may vary by state depending on regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional field sales experience in alcohol-beverage or CPG (consumer packaged goods) industries. New college graduates may qualify with a sales/marketing internship, part-time sales role, or sales competition experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving volume goals and delivering on distribution and retail promotional objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to use sales data analytics and tools to drive results and identify market trends.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within an assigned territory.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to personally cover ordinary and essential business expenses (reimbursed promptly).
  • Required to obtain a solicitor’s permit in any state as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 35 lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to ascend or descend stairs.
  • Ability to drive and visit multiple accounts in one day.
  • Strong communication skills.
