About the role
As our Market Development Representative, you will cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with community physicians, driving awareness and interest in targeted services and service lines, serving as a vital connection point between the medical community and our organization.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with community physicians
- Develop acute knowledge in specified service lines to increase interest and awareness
- Build existing physician relations and establish new ones
- Proactively identify barriers to physician satisfaction, communicate issues to leadership, and ensure managed follow-up to address concerns
- Operate under the direction of the Hospital/Market Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and the Market Executive Director of Market Development (EDMD)
- Collaborate with Senior Team and Program Directors
- Conduct regular in-person and virtual visits with referral sources to promote Ivy Center programs and clinical trials
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external providers regarding the Ivy Center’s referral processes
- Participate in developing service line and referral growth goals in collaboration with Ivy Center leadership
- Support new program launches and strategic initiatives
- Use referral, utilization, and market data to identify growth opportunities and prioritize outreach efforts
- Identify guest speaking opportunities for Ivy Center leadership at research and service line outreach events
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration or related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare sales, medical marketing, physician relations, pharmaceutical sales, or healthcare business development
- Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and referral networks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship-building and presentation skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred
- Master’s degree (MBA MHA or related)
- Experience working with hospitals physician practices or specialty service lines
- Experience in oncology neuroscience or clinical research environments
- Understanding of clinical trials and research operations
- Skills in data analysis, contract negotiation, and strategic planning
