Market Developer - Chemical Formulating
About the Role
The Market Developer – Chemical Formulating acts as a technical product specialist, securing new business for specialty additives primarily in durable goods, automotive, household & institutional, and building & construction markets. You will target a wide range of markets and industry segments, achieving sales goals through formulation and application consultation with customers. This role uncovers deep market understanding and communicates insights back to our marketing team to proactively solve problems.
Responsibilities
- Execute sales campaigns through targeted sales calls, interacting primarily with project specifiers and technical/R&D personnel to identify, test, and refine product value propositions.
- Achieve customer-focused solutions by defining objectives, environment, resources, and plans while mitigating risks associated with customer/supplier needs.
- Support Product Line growth by managing sales opportunities through the full sales cycle and providing technical support post-transition to an Account Representative.
- Develop and demonstrate technical proficiency by working closely with customers, technical supplier contacts, and Product Managers.
- Build and deliver product and industry training, including product/application-specific training for sales representatives.
- Assist sales representatives with technical sales calls to support application development and make effective product recommendations.
- Assist the Product Manager in campaign strategy development by creating and refining campaign/product collateral (internal and online).
Requirements
- Science or Technical degree from a fully accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, any Engineering discipline).
- 3+ years of sales, industry, or product experience within a relevant focus area.
- Experience and sound knowledge of using PC and Windows OS.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Technical proficiency in select products and industry segments, with the ability to quickly learn product application, usage, and chemical process information.
Work Location
This is a hybrid role based in Bellevue, WA and The Woodlands, TX.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,320 – $97,750 annually. The specific salary offered may be influenced by factors such as relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
