What You'll Do

  • Analyze petrochemical, resin, feedstock, and commodity markets to identify pricing trends and emerging risks.
  • Monitor supply disruptions, force majeure events, geopolitical developments, and capacity changes affecting chemical markets.
  • Validate supplier price increase requests using market intelligence, contract formulas, and independent analysis.
  • Build and maintain resin cost models, forecasting tools, historical pricing databases, and analytical dashboards.
  • Deliver 30-, 60-, 90-day and quarterly forecasts for key chemical and resin markets.
  • Produce executive-ready market intelligence reports that support sourcing and strategic planning.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance to improve sourcing decisions.
  • Support supplier negotiations with objective market data and pricing recommendations.
  • Evaluate domestic and global sourcing alternatives to reduce cost and supply risk.
  • Continuously monitor global chemical, energy, and commodity markets to identify commercial opportunities before they impact the business.

  • Support stronger supplier negotiations through fact-based commercial recommendations.
  • Develop repeatable forecasting tools and pricing models.
  • Identify supply risks before they impact operations.
  • Deliver executive-ready market intelligence that directly influences sourcing strategy.
  • Help create measurable enterprise value through improved purchasing decisions and reduced supply risk.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–10+ years of experience in chemical market intelligence, commodity analysis, petrochemical procurement, strategic sourcing, pricing analysis, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of petrochemical value chains, resin manufacturing, feedstocks, commodity pricing, and chemical market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn market information into business decisions that improve sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, forecasting, or cost management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, forecasting, cost modeling, and scenario analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information to business leaders.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using ICIS, CMA, Orbichem, Argus, CDI, Tecnon OrbiChem, or similar chemical pricing platforms.
  • Experience with thermoset resins, acrylic resins, composites, polymers, specialty chemicals, or feedstocks.
  • Contract pricing validation or pricing audit experience.
  • Global sourcing or commodity risk management experience.
  • Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing organizations.
  • Master's degree or MBA.
