About the role
The Market & Customer Intelligence Manager is a subject matter expert in building, shaping, and communicating customer insights and strategy for Alaska Air Group (AAG). As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to analyze market/customer trends, identify revenue opportunities, conduct in-depth market research and provide recommendations that lead to strategic recommendations and the successful implementation of product initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a subject matter expert in customers and competitors through analysis, providing insights and assessing the impact of major strategic decisions around these topics.
- Apply deep knowledge in market analysis to identify/size opportunities and competitor trends, that lead to insights that support strategic decision making.
- Utilize advanced analytics to analyze large datasets, extract meaningful insights and develop actionable recommendations.
- Provides ad-hoc analysis as needed for the department in support of commercial decisions, product design, partner negotiations, company presentations, and internal/external communications.
- Influence cross-functionally and build relationships with internal teams such as finance, marketing, ecommerce, network and revenue management to foster collaboration and cohesive approaches to strategic questions and commercial objectives.
- Identify and explore innovative opportunities for revenue generation and cost optimization within the industry.
- Effectively communicate complex analysis and strategic recommendations to stakeholders, providing regular reports on key performance metrics and market trends.
- Create business cases and/or decision analysis to support proposed strategies, outlining key assumptions, financial projections, and potential risks.
Requirements
- 4 years of experience in consumer insights, business analytics, competitive intelligence, strategy, economics, or related area.
- Advanced working knowledge in consumer insights, competitive and product analysis.
- Proven track record of applying insights to business strategy.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree, or an additional 2 years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Skills
- Skilled in presenting and storytelling data-driven strategic insights, including use of visualization tools (Tableau).
- Employs a strong understanding of revenue products, as well as product merchandising and optimization strategies.
- Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with other teams, valuing diversity and inclusivity.
- Strong understanding of strategy development and drawing insights and implications from competitor moves.

Pay
Salary Range $99,850 -- $149,800 / year. Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees.
