Market Assistant
Job Responsibilities
- Solicit, develop and maintain relationships with retail brokers/agencies to generate new revenue streams focused on Property and Casualty products and services.
- Present our services and solutions to clients.
- Bring new business prospects to closure.
- Retain clients by maintaining solid relationships.
- Prospect, identify, develop new clients.
- Prepare/assist in contracting of clients and any required paperwork.
- Develop and maintain current knowledge of SPG’s core business partners and their products.
- Work optimally with team to ensure sales targets are achieved.
- Work with clients to ensure the optimal coverage is offered, including quoting and/or follow-up.
- Support clients by providing technical support, product education, etc.
- Maintain industry memberships/licenses with regulatory bodies.
- Attend and participate in ongoing education for industry knowledge.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of previous experience in sales and/or underwriting.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Property and casualty experience is highly preferred.
- Must be sales driven and enjoy business development with the ability to develop, foster and maintain excellent working relationships.
- Able to understand clients’ needs and have knowledge of the risk profiles associated.
- Required to obtain the appropriate state licensing within 90 days of hire.
- Preference given to those with existing insurance licensure and/or industry designations.
- Able to work under pressure and within deadlines.
- Detail-oriented.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, multi-tasking, and organizational skills required.
- The preferred candidate is a team player with a great attitude, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role
We are not only a powerful market resource for brokers and agents, but also a partner for carriers reaching out to the commercial insurance buyer in innovative, cost-effective ways. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Wholesale Insurance Marketing Assistant to join our Property and Casualty Division, focusing on a variety of products such as Property, General Liability, Umbrella and Excess, Auto, Workers Compensation and much more.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of previous experience in sales and/or underwriting.
- Bachelor’s degree required.

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $80,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
