Market Analyst - Hybrid (Minnetonka, MN)
Summary
The Market Analyst conducts all aspects of marketing and financial analysis related to clients’ group benefit programs. The Market Analyst works closely and collaboratively with the Account Manager and Benefits Consultant as a subject matter expert to produce and present benefit and financial illustrations that allows clients to properly evaluate their benefit plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates, owns & delivers (where appropriate) detailed reports and presentations of marketing information
- Maintains accurate, current, organized and complete market information in internal databases
- Owes the renewal projection calculations, data analytics
- Owes the carrier negotiation process
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with carrier partners
- Works closely with Benefits Consultants and/or Client Executives to manage the entire renewal process
- Communicates and educates team on latest client data trends
- Prepares accurate market exhibits for proposal responses, quarterly and annual client meetings; attend and engage as subject matter expert on those exhibits/responses
- Assists the Account Manager to review client utilization reports and identifies opportunities for plan design and product changes, based upon utilization patterns
- Owes the Request for Proposal (RFP) process by owning financial analysis and being available to the client for recommendation
- Carrier certificate review, new product application tracking, new client data gathering
- Manages day to day client issues
- Attends regular client meetings
- Builds relationships with client through proactive communications
- Communicates renewal decisions to carriers, gathers plan summaries and SBCS for client. Assists clients and/or consultants with 5500 form filings, wrap documents, non-discrimination testing as applicable
- Aids in growing the book of business through cross-sale opportunities when available
- Aids team and clients as necessary with special projects

Education, Training and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, required; Business, Finance, Math, Accounting or related field, preferred
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, required
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel experience, required
- Experience in the healthcare industry working for a group insurance carrier, broker or consultant, preferred
- Knowledge of group insurance including medical, dental, CDHP, pharmacy, life and disability products, preferred
- Experience with database applications, a plus
- Current life and health producer license or ability to acquire within 90 days of hire (company paid), required
Pay
The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $60,000 to $80,000 per year. Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
