Brief Job Overview

The Market Access summer intern will support the Market Access and Systems Strengthening team on several ongoing activities, including supporting the revision of the EML in Kenya and defining a framework for a budget impact assessment for local manufacturing.

Who is USP Looking For?

  • Motivated graduate-level student or early-career professional with an interest in market access, pharmaceutical policy, regulatory systems, and health systems strengthening.
  • Currently pursuing a PhD.
  • Graduate: PharmD, master’s degree, or other advanced degree in pharmacy, regulatory affairs, public health, health economics, pharmaceutical policy, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of pharmacy, pharmaceutical management, regulatory affairs, market access, or health systems strengthening.
  • Experience conducting research, synthesizing information, and analyzing qualitative or quantitative data.
  • Interest in essential medicines lists, budget impact assessment, local pharmaceutical manufacturing, or access to quality-assured medicines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize findings and present recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and build credibility with stakeholders in a collaborative environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role.

Compensation

Base Salary Range: USD $20/hr. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate’s skill set, experience, qualifications, equity, and other job-related reasons.
