About the role
The Market Access summer intern will support the Market Access and Systems Strengthening team on several ongoing activities, including, but not limited to, supporting the revision of the EML in Kenya and defining a framework for a budget impact assessment for local manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Kenya PPH team to understand plans to revise the NEML in Kenya
- Develop a proposal to share with Kenya to incorporate cost considerations in the review
- Define a framework for a budget impact assessment, reviewing data already collected by MedSuRe, identifying gaps and evaluating the feasibility of collecting missing data.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a PhD.
- Graduate: PharmD, master’s degree, or other advanced degree in pharmacy, regulatory affairs, public health, health economics, pharmaceutical policy, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of pharmacy, pharmaceutical management, regulatory affairs, market access, or health systems strengthening.
- Experience conducting research, synthesizing information, and analyzing qualitative or quantitative data.
- Interest in essential medicines lists, budget impact assessment, local pharmaceutical manufacturing, or access to quality-assured medicines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize findings and present recommendations clearly.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and build credibility with stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
