Maritime Space Officer Instructor
About the role
This position will be responsible for the development, maintenance and delivery of lessons related to integrated Navy/maritime and space operations. The individual will coordinate and/or develop and maintain lessons at various classifications up to TS/SCI/NOFORN, various student experience levels, detail levels and delivery lengths/modalities. The individual will be the primary instructor/lesson owner of lessons and similar topics in various in-residence, mobile, online and blended NSSI courses. Travel requirements of up to 15% annually, including occasional weekend or overseas travel.
Responsibilities
- Instruct lessons in various courses primarily focused on Navy/maritime and space integration aspects, as well as develop, implement, validate, and maintain educational and course materials for assigned lessons at the National Security Space Institute (NSSI), Peterson SFB, Colorado.
- Assist in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of maritime and space integration related lesson plans and materials within the ISD guidelines to satisfy government educational requirements.
- Interface with internal and external agencies and customers as required to maintain up-to-date education program materials.
- Train and prepare to assume additional duties as an assistant course director or future course director as opportunities arise and are assigned by government/contract leadership.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Navy space related capabilities, equities and competencies
- Working knowledge of Navy (MOC/FLT) or COCOM level operations
- Working knowledge of training and education systems and programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
Qualifications
- Top Secret Clearance and SCI eligibility required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in relevant field (6 years of experience in a relevant field may be substituted for the education requirement)
Benefits
The estimated ANNUAL salary for this position is $120,000 - $130,000; however, Sigmatech considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, experience, education/training, key skills, location and often contractual requirements.
Skills
- Navy Space Cadre (VS5/VS6) or experience in Naval Operations
- Integrated Navy and USMC operations
- Completion of DoD Instructor Course or equivalent civilian course/degree
- Experience with DoD training/education, including planning and delivering instruction in accordance with the ISD model, training records keeping and documentation
Pay
