About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Marine Structural Engineer to join our team in New York. You will work closely with a team of experts working alongside our customers on some of North America's most significant projects. Your key responsibilities will be to:

Responsibilities

  • Apply broad and deep knowledge in structural engineering and marine infrastructure projects such as piers, wharves, bulkheads, seawalls, marinas, ferry terminals, and coastal resilience structures.
  • Perform tasks in the field of structural analysis and design; including but not limited to reinforced and pre-stressed concrete design, steel and timber framing design; gravity-based and pile foundations; earth retaining structures and seawalls, etc.
  • Implement design best practices and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Perform and review calculations for analysis purposes.
  • Prepare construction documents and oversee construction administration activities.
  • Conduct site inspections, prepare observation reports, and generate high-quality documentation within project timelines and budgets.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior engineer staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering;
  • Master of Science/Engineering (MS or MEng) or PhD degree in structural engineering is preferred.
  • 7 to 10 years of prior project-based engineering experience, focusing on waterfront and coastal design, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel, especially for fieldwork in the New York City area.

  • Knowledge of structural analysis and design techniques.

Pay

Base compensation: $88,000 to $136,200 for New York location only. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, skill set and/or location.
