Marine Service Engineer
About the role
As our Marine Service Engineer, you will resolve complex technical issues including commissioning certifications of elevators and escalators and complex troubleshooting by applying the correct analysis procedures. You will be accountable for end-user communication with customers on-site at marine vessels and for site safety.
Up to 50% international and domestic travel is required, with time spent aboard ships at sea.
Responsibilities
- Resolve complex technical issues through commissioning certifications and troubleshooting.
- Communicate with customers on-site at marine vessels and ensure site safety.
- Identify technical competence gaps caused by new equipment and communicate them to supervisors or technical helpdesk.
- Provide feedback on repairs or adjustments to reduce call-outs and collaborate with Clinical Specialists, Clinical Analysts, and Technical Helpdesk.
- Ensure safe working practices and adherence to maintenance and safety instructions.
- Plan workload effectively in conjunction with the service supervisor.
- Debug Printed Circuit Board assemblies, wiring harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, and systems.
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures of marine elevator diagrams for field support.
- Identify European elevator spare parts to ensure availability for maintenance.
- Work with motion and closed-loop controls on elevators to fix complex troubleshooting on-site.
- Work with analogy and digital interface controls on elevators for complex troubleshooting.
- Perform annual inspections of European elevators to ensure compliance with local and country regulations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the position offered or a similar engineering role.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, 7 years of relevant experience without a degree.
- 3+ years of experience in debugging Printed Circuit Board assemblies, wiring harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, and systems.
- 3+ years of experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures of marine elevator diagrams.
- 3+ years of experience identifying European elevator spare parts.
- 3+ years of experience with motion and closed-loop controls on elevators.
- 3+ years of experience with analogy and digital interface controls on elevators.
- 2+ years of experience performing annual inspections of European elevators.
