Marine Scientist Intern

About the Role

This part-time, entry-level Scientist Intern position in our Boca Raton, FL office supports critical work spanning safeguarding infrastructure, disaster recovery, climate resilience, and ecological restoration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vibracore processing: splitting, photographing, logging, and sampling
• Perform sieve and carbonate analysis
• Conduct carbonate content analysis
• Execute GIS analysis and map production
• Produce geotechnical deliverables, including technical reports and appendices
• Format geoscientific datasets in a GIS environment

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Geology or related field
• 0-5 years of geology experience
• Experience with mechanical sieve analysis
• Experience processing sediment cores
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with ArcGIS software preferred
• Able to work collaboratively in a diverse team setting
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated, hard-working, and capable of working independently or with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong attention to detail
• Clean driving record

Pay

Current pay range for this position is $21-$25 per hour, depending on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
