Marine Manager
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee daily terminal operations, including crane, rail, truck, cargo washing, packaging and fleet maintenance.
- Promote a proactive and collaborative work environment where management, labor, and service partners work together to achieve operational goals.
- Coordinate with vessel operations, cargo management, customer care teams, stevedores, and customers to ensure efficient cargo flow and service delivery.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, appointments, operational issues, and service-related concerns.
- Monitor cargo handling activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Manage equipment availability, maintenance coordination, and terminal systems while supporting operational excellence, digitalization, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate third-party services and invoicing while maintaining effective communication with customers, labor, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient cargo operations.
- Identify operational challenges and implement corrective actions to improve performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 2+ years of experience in marine terminal, vessel, port, transportation, logistics, or related operations.
- Strong labor management, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinker who is adaptable, collaborative, and able to build strong relationships with employees, customers, labor, and business partners.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills and a commitment to service excellence.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Very proficient with operational systems, technology platforms, and Microsoft Office applications
EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE
- Experience working with union labor environments.
- Knowledge of vessel planning, cargo operations, and stevedoring activities.
Benefits And Pay
The Marine Manager starting salary is between $96,000 – 105,000.
