About the role
Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), seeks applicants for full-time security-based positions. These roles are part of an elite team dedicated to maintaining border security and facilitating lawful international travel and trade.
Responsibilities
- Maintain law enforcement scenes, including conducting searches, making arrests, and seizing evidence and property.
- Interpret radar data to track vessels and people for successful interdiction.
- Search persons, vessels, baggage, and cargo for contraband or weapons.
- Collect, refine, and analyze strategic and tactical intelligence.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualification: Merchant Mariner Credential.
- Education substitution: Ph.D., LL.M., or a combination of experience and education.
- Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as controlling/commanding law enforcement scenes, conducting investigative inquiries, and assisting government attorneys.
- Age requirement: Must be referred for selection to the Border Patrol Agent position before reaching 40th birthday.
Benefits
- Salary range: $105,931 - $191,284 per year based on grade level and duty location.

Requirements
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen.
- Residency: Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
- Veterans' Preference: Proof of veteran's preference (DD-214 Member 4 Copy) required.
- Training: Completion of required training as a condition of employment.
- Travel: May be expected to travel for operational needs.
