Marine Inspector / Senior Marine Inspector Locations: Portland, OR and Southern California Experience Required: 3+ Years (Independent Field Experience Required) Employment Type: Full-Time Travel: Frequent local and regional travel to ports, shipyards, marine terminals, and customer facilities. Hourly Range: $40-$50/per hour Position Summary ATS is seeking an experienced Marine Inspector to support our growing Marine Services division in Portland, Oregon and Southern California. This position requires an individual who can work independently, interface directly with clients, and perform a wide variety of marine inspection, survey, and quality assurance services aboard commercial vessels, government vessels, barges, terminals, and marine facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing vessel inspections, thickness gauging, piping inspections, welding inspections, coating assessments, and shipyard oversight activities. Candidates with certifications or experience working with major classification societies and naval standards are strongly preferred. Primary Responsibilities The Marine Inspector will be responsible for performing and managing: Classification Society and Owner-required inspectionsHull Condition SurveysThickness Measurement SurveysSteel Renewal Weld InspectionsShipyard Repair Oversight and SupervisionRepair Specification DevelopmentPiping System Surveys and AssessmentsCoating Condition AssessmentsCorrosion Mapping and Pitting SurveysDry Dock and Repair Period InspectionsStrong customer communication and project management skills.Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.Physical RequirementsAbility to climb ladders, staging, and vessel structures.Ability to access confined spaces and vessel compartments.Ability to work in shipyards, onboard vessels, and industrial environments.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to wear required PPE and work around marine and industrial hazards.
