Mackay Marine has an opening for an experienced Marine Electronics Technician in our Miami depot located in Miramar, FL.

About the role

Under limited supervision, the Marine Electronics Technician installs, services, and repairs electronic equipment on board ships. Responsibilities include testing, adjusting, and troubleshooting components, PCBs, and sub-assemblies; loading, updating, and modifying software; and utilizing knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address technical problems. METs use complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to complete assignments and compose detailed service reports upon job completion.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Marine Electronics Technician or Electronics Technician in commercial shipping or the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines.
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
• Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
• Physically fit; work environment often involves carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a thorough background check.
