Marine Designer
We are a rapidly growing small business seeking experienced designers and engineers who can deliver quality work and help expand our operations. This role is ideal for a Marine Designer with Arbortext experience and a background in mechanical, electrical, or structural design. You’ll perform shipchecks, work in AutoCAD, and handle technical writing, primarily producing engineering deliverables for the U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command (MSC), and U.S. Coast Guard. Strong interpersonal skills, marine HM&E experience, and deep knowledge of U.S. Navy, USCG, and MSC ship systems are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to develop all engineering and technical deliverables
- Perform design and drawing development of marine systems
- Develop and modify technical manuals using Arbortext
- Conduct quality assurance of all engineering deliverables
- Engage directly with clients
- Develop drawings in AutoCAD
- Assist the Project Manager in business development and customer relations
- Expect approximately 10% domestic and international travel
Requirements
- 2–5 years of proven design or engineering experience with U.S. Navy, USCG, or MSC vessels
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Current passport
- Active Secret-level security clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Arbortext SGML experience is highly preferred
