About the role
This is where you come in. We're looking for a skilled Marine Chiller Technician to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on marine chillers and refrigeration systems to ensure peak performance.
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics to proactively identify and address issues.
- Maintain detailed service records to ensure traceability and accountability for all maintenance tasks.
- Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts on HVAC systems aboard marine vessels, with a focus on chiller and refrigeration components.
- Replace or repair faulty parts, restoring systems to full operational capacity.
- Provide timely and reliable emergency repair services as needed.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.
- Educate clients on best practices for operating and maintaining their systems.
- Create and submit detailed reports on all maintenance and repair activities.
- Track and log parts usage and time per project to support efficient resource management.
- Ensure all documentation is completed promptly and accurately to maintain transparency and compliance.
- Mentor peers and junior technicians in advanced troubleshooting and repair techniques for marine air conditioning, chillers, and refrigeration systems.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee technical work, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and safely.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certification in HVAC or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in chiller and refrigeration system maintenance and repair.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- EPA Section 608 certification (required).
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work independently in the field.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (intermediate level).
