Position Overview
Nightwing is seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Technician to join a dynamic and fast-paced program at a world-class operations facility. The successful candidate will provide operational support and facilities maintenance, ensuring optimal performance of HVAC systems.
Clearance Requirements
Candidates must hold a TS/SCI with CI POLY clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, providing solutions to routine to complex issues.
- Manage as-built documentation and ensure proper change management processes are adhered to.
- Support future site modifications and upgrades, offering expertise during the design and planning phases.
- Analyze performance data to identify opportunities for system expansions and improvements in energy efficiency.
- Participate in operations and maintenance (O&M) efforts to ensure the continued functionality of all mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with other trades and professionals to complete projects on time and within scope.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with HVAC mechanical systems, including chiller plants, FCUs, air handling units, in-row coolers, and VRF systems.
- Experience with as-built documentation and change management in mechanical systems.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to support system improvements and design modifications.
- Hands-on experience with chilled water systems (CWS), pumps, valves, and associated HVAC infrastructure.
- Ability to carry and use tools/equipment (up to 45 lbs) and work with hand and power tools for prolonged periods.
- HVAC Journeyman License or equivalent certification.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and drive successful project outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with building management system (BMS) modifications and optimization.
- Cross-training in additional trades, including electrical, plumbing, and structural work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research for product specification searches.
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, and heavy equipment operation skill.
