About the Role
The Marina Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the marina, ensuring that all activities align with budgetary guidelines and operational goals. This role requires a strong focus on improving guest services, enhancing performance and efficiency, and maximizing profitability. The Marina Manager will collaborate with the General Manager, Home Office, and other team members to foster an environment of teamwork and excellence. This position demands a proactive leader who exemplifies exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional company image in all interactions.
Responsibilities
- Works with the General Manager to achieve financial results according to the annual operating and capital budgets.
- Supervises all marina operations to ensure prompt, courteous, and safe service to all customers.
- Understands and complies with government regulations pertaining to marina operations and handles all aspects of governmental reporting and compliance, including but not limited to weights and measures, OSHA, EPA, and Corps of Engineers.
- Manages a variety of tasks requiring judgment and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently as a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
- Manages several projects simultaneously and handles frequent interruptions to meet the needs and requests of employees.
Requirements
- Two to three years of previous management experience, including direction of employees, accounting, budgeting activities, inventory control, advertising, and customer relations.
- Marine-related experience required.
- General accounting knowledge and basic understanding of financial statements.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel.
- Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in emergencies.
- Flexible schedule, including working weekends and holidays during the busy season.
