Manufacturing Training Supervisor
Overview
The Training Coordinator works with Plant Manager, Production Manager, EH&S Manager, P&O, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Production Supervisors, and assembly associates. The focus is to coordinate all training activities for the site, especially for the hourly workforce.
Responsibilities
- Focus on training needs for hourly manufacturing employees.
- Lead training program facilitation and administration.
- Plan and coordinate training sessions based on site and regional needs.
- Facilitate sessions and ensure strong participation.
- Develop a train-the-trainer program and make sure all trainers are certified.
- Manage the on-the-job (OJT) training program for each manufacturing line and create a method to track OJT.
- Support manufacturing readiness and standard work programs.
- Track training results and provide clear post-training updates to operations.
- Document feedback and audit findings to identify strengths and improvement areas.
- Assess development needs for individuals and groups.
- Maintain adherence to training programs to maintain standard work.
- Provide training evidence for ISO audits.
- Continue improving personal skills through classes and cross-training.
- Comfortable facilitating training and teaching sessions with an audience of up to 50 people.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. 3+ years of experience as a Training Coordinator, Training Supervisor, Project Coordinator, or similar role. Experience supervising or managing people including skills in assessing, teaching, and coaching. Confident presenter for large and remote groups and able to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment. Experience using training technology and tools to develop materials including MS suite: excel, word, power point and outlook. Strong understanding of learning and assessment methods.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in a manufacturing and, or production environment. Experience developing SOPs, training videos, and work instructions for electrical or mechanical assemblies. Able to write reports, proposals, training outlines, tests, and other training documents. Friendly, approachable with strong communication, writing skills relationship-building and influencing skills. Able to work well with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams.
