This position is based out of our Grand Island, NY site within BioProduction Group.
Schedule
- 3rd Shift: Monday to Friday, 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay
- $20.00 per hour
- Shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift positions
Environmental Conditions
- Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
- Cleanroom restrictions: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, or facial hair allowed
- Fluctuating temperatures (hot/cold)
- Loud noises from equipment/machinery
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.
- Standing for full shift
- Exposure to strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Use equipment including mixers, mills, blenders, pumps, filtration systems, packaging, and laboratory equipment
- Weigh, measure, and verify raw materials using a computer interface to ensure accurate batch composition
- Calibrate and operate manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment
- Identify and conduct basic troubleshooting for equipment
- Follow safe practices, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions in controlled environments, including classified clean rooms
- Maintain compliance with Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements
- Complete moderately complex tasks related to manufacturing of cell culture media
- Perform related duties as required to meet business goals
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 1+ years of experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment, manufacturing, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced work environment is strongly preferred
- Formal training in Lean, 5S, or manufacturing processes is preferred
- General understanding of technical, mechanical, and machinery equipment is preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail for complex instructions and documentation while maintaining quality output
- Demonstrated proficiency in multiple processes in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively (verbal, written, and oral)
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods, squat, bend, and reach
- Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including work uniform, steel toe shoes, hair net, beard guard (when required), safety glasses, and gloves
- PPE may also include a bump cap, face shield, and full/half-face respirators
- Availability to work overtime and flexible shift patterns
