Manufacturing Technician II - 2nd Shift

About The Role

As a Manufacturing Technician II, you are responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations in daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment to achieve production goals (i.e., safety, quality, delivery, and cost). Daily tasks include responding to equipment downtime issues on the production floor, performing routine preventative maintenance on production equipment, and supporting Manufacturing Engineers (ME) in value improvement projects. Most of your time is spent on the production floor, working on equipment and engaging with our Medical Device Specialists (i.e., MDS operators).

With General Supervision, you will work on 2nd shift as part of a technician team in the Nitinol Shape Memory (NSM) business unit. NSM 2nd shift runs Monday-Friday from 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Mandatory Weekend OT is required on a rotation recurring basis. Current OT requirement is a minimum of once (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks.

This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position.

Responsibilities

• Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations, including QSR and ISO Standards.
• Applies mechanical, electrical, control, and pneumatic knowledge to troubleshoot and solve equipment and process problems for various automated equipment.
• Identifies and troubleshoots process, material, or equipment problems to minimize downtime.
• Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing-related issues.
• Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive, and calibration maintenance as necessary.
• Supports equipment startups and shutdowns, which may include staying late to ensure equipment is in a safe state.
• Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
• Modifies existing and develops new tooling and fixtures.
• Evaluates and orders necessary equipment, tools, and fixtures.
• Responsible for quality and adhering to manufacturing process requirements, the Boston Scientific Corporation Quality Policy, and the Strategic Quality Process (SQP).
• Proactively communicates quality issues and concerns.
• Understands and applies a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and related principles.
• Assists in Value Improvement (VIP) and implements new equipment or processes or improves existing ones for cost savings.
• Trains and provides technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians.
• Understands and applies flex strategy, rotates as necessary, and works well with all group members, both within the team and cross-functionally.
• Actively participates in Shared Responsibility and continuous improvement teams.
• Understands, follows, and promotes all BSC and site-specific policies and procedures.
• Responsible for attending and passing all core required BSC and site-specific training (i.e., QS Basics, RTK, Lean Training).

Qualifications

• 2 Years with High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience, training, or apprenticeships.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and effective troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Proven reliability with a strong attendance record and consistent work ethic.
• Proactive communicator and team player who seeks opportunities to improve processes and resolve issues collaboratively.
• Previous technical line support experience in high-volume Medical Device manufacturing.

Pay

Minimum Salary: $43,368

Maximum Salary: $73,736

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
