Manufacturing Technician – Entry Level

About the role

This position is located at Northrop Grumman's Iuka, MS site and is part of the Manufacturing Operations Organization within the Aeronautics Systems sector. It is a hands-on role requiring exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to quality, and outstanding interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints
• Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies
• Perform precision drilling, countersinking, and use of calibrated tools
• Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
• Perform part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
• Measure parts with precision tools like micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
• Modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
• Use appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period
• Successful completion and passing of “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period
• Ability to work any shift

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $32,500.00 - $54,100.00, depending on the position and qualifications of the candidate.

Schedule

This position may be filled at varying shift times including weekdays, nights, and weekends (shift differential paid during eligible shifts).
