Manufacturing Technician 4
About the role
This position supports the Manufacturing Operations Organization within the Aeronautics Systems sector at Northrop Grumman's Iuka, MS site. It requires a hands-on professional with at least 6 years of experience in hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, or systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, or maintenance environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand blueprints
- Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies
- Perform precision drilling, countersinking, and use calibrated tools
- Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
- Perform part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
- Measure parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
- Modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
- Use daily manufacturing shop controls and systems
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the shop floor
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience
- Current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access
- U.S. Citizenship required for clearance
- Successfully complete and pass ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance within a reasonable time period
- Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications, and operating procedures
- Ability to read engineering drawings
Qualifications

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $59,400.00 - $99,000.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
Schedule
This position may be filled at varying shift times including weekdays, nights, and weekends (shift differential paid during eligible shifts).
