About the role

Mechanical technicians set up, run and maintain manufacturing equipment and assembly processes. They ensure that all equipment is working efficiently, monitor production processes, and make adjustments or troubleshoot as needed. Mechanical technicians produce products for the consumer market. They assemble components by hand, add finishing touches to components, and perform quality checks on machine-produced parts.

Responsibilities

• Assembles products and parts to meet production targets
• Follows production guidelines and specifications
• Operates and maintains machinery and production line equipment
• Maintains production line and removes faulty products
• Participates in ongoing on-the-job training to adhere to company policies
• Completes assigned product manufacturing and assembly tasks
• Conducts quality checks on the functionality of parts and components
• Adds finishing touches to the appearance of components
• Performs minor repairs and reports breakdowns in a timely manner
• Keeps equipment maintenance logs
• Collaborates with other departments to complete production orders on time
• Complies with internal policies and industry regulations
• Follows instructions and/or direction given by supervisors to complete assigned work projects
• Ensures work area is clean and safe

Requirements

• Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems
• Fabrication experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Ability to work in a team setting
• Works as a team within department and with other departments
• Works scheduled hours and complies with company policies
