About the role

Join our fabrication team in Orano’s state-of-the-art Kernersville facility. This role involves supplying the nuclear industry with specialized products made in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and intermediate-level equipment and tooling set-up
• Prepare parts at an intermediate level
• Operate various saws, CNC cutting machines (laser, waterjet, plasma), and other equipment
• Perform rigging tasks, either assisting or leading, to transport parts throughout the facility
• Abrasively blast and/or paint product during fabrication phases or as final assemblies
• Follow shop travelers with minimal supervision and make accurate document entries
• Work flexible hours and shifts as required
• Work from drawings, specifications, procedures, SWIs, electronic data, and written/verbal instructions
• Grind welds, blend parts, remove burrs, wire brush parts, steel stamp parts, clean parts with solvent or steam, wrap parts with plastic/tarps for shipment, and assist in loading parts
• Straighten assemblies throughout various stages of fabrication
• Assist maintenance and other personnel in moving or handling materials, parts, equipment, furniture, or other items
• Load and drive company vehicles between locations and to local vendors
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment
• Utilize principles of Lean Manufacturing

Requirements

• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to the position
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and remain standing for long periods
• Basic mathematical calculation skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
