About the role
The Team Lead provides daily work direction for a production line, ensuring effective communication and completion of manufacturing operations tasks while applying AMS tools. This role oversees a production department of 5-40 associates, focusing on feedback, coaching, and training to meet SQDC metrics.
Responsibilities
- Ensure continuous flow of production to meet planned output while adhering to operations standards (safety, quality, delivery, cost, maintenance).
- Identify process and resource constraints; resolve issues with the Tier 1 team or escalate to Tier 2 as needed.
- Partner with Value Stream Supervisors to facilitate training and development of production employees, setting clear performance expectations.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and maintain a cross-training matrix to optimize employee capabilities.
- Coordinate employee movement to meet business needs and support AMS projects to improve business metrics.
- Maintain visual management tools (PVA, run charts, CI boards, Tier 1 boards) to drive continuous improvement and engagement.
- Participate in problem-solving using AMS tools (5 Why, PDCA, MCA) and lead daily Tier 1 meetings to encourage participation.
- Support other production areas as needed, including project support, leader coverage, and cycle counting.
- Complete standard work and control plan audits (safety, finished goods quality, scrap, standard work).
- Participate in and complete corrective actions from the MCA process.
- Enforce all safety procedures, proactively address safety concerns, and follow up on actions.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience in manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes (e.g., 5s, problem-solving methods). Lean training or certification preferred.
- Understanding of operations products, processes, and equipment, including safety, quality, changeover, setup, and preventative maintenance.
- Awareness of interdependencies across the value stream (manufacturing/functional groups).
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
$22.25 - $32.25 per hour.
