Manufacturing Team Lead I (Doors, 1st Shift 5x8)

The Team Lead will provide daily work direction of production lines through effective communication and completion of manufacturing operations tasks while applying AMS tools. This role oversees a production department of 5-40 production associates, ensuring continuous flow to meet planned output while following operations standards (safety, quality, delivery, cost, maintenance).

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous production flow to meet planned output while adhering to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and maintenance standards.
• Identify process and resource constraints; resolve issues using decision-making and problem-solving techniques to meet SQDC metrics.
• Engage Tier 1 teams in problem resolution and escalate issues to Tier 2 teams as needed.
• Partner with Value Stream Supervisors to facilitate training and development of production employees, setting clear performance expectations.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and maintain a cross-training matrix to utilize employee capabilities effectively.
• Coordinate employee movement to meet business needs and support AMS projects to improve business metrics.
• Maintain visual management tools (PVA, run charts, CI boards, Tier 1 boards) to drive continuous improvement and employee engagement.
• Participate in problem-solving using AMS tools (5 Why, PDCA, MCA) and lead daily Tier 1 meetings to encourage participation.
• Support other production areas as needed, including project support, leader coverage, and cycle counting.
• Complete standard work and control plan audits (safety, finished goods quality, scrap, standard work) and participate in corrective actions from the MCA process.
• Enforce all safety procedures, proactively address safety concerns, and follow up on actions.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience in manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge and application of continuous improvement processes (e.g., 5s, problem-solving methods). Lean training or certification preferred.
• Understanding of operations products, processes, and equipment, including safety, quality, changeover, setup, and preventative maintenance techniques.
• Awareness of interdependencies across the value stream (manufacturing/functional groups).
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate employees.
• Proven skills in identifying constraints, problem-solving, delegation, and decision-making.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with others.
• Flexible, self-motivated, and a lifelong learner with demonstrated initiative.

Pay

$22.25 - $32.25 per hour
