About the role

The Area Team Lead plays a key role in managing and supervising a team within a specific area of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure the team can meet operational needs efficiently.
  • Collaborate with upper management to ensure clear alignment with overall operational needs.
  • Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess productivity.
  • Address and resolve issues, conflicts, and challenges within the team; know when to escalate to ensure appropriate action is taken.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate training plans to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are followed per SOP.
  • Ensure team adheres to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Assign, train, and direct team members.
  • Ensure achievement of optimum product quality through proper handling of consumables, materials, and machines within your responsibility.
  • Ensure the performance of required in-process quality checks to maintain consistent output from start to finish.
  • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of equipment.
  • Coordinate the response to “rush” or urgent requests without prior notice while maintaining accuracy and deadline requirements.
  • Be flexible to work alternate shift schedules to meet customer demands during peak periods.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of plastic card manufacturing, preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • High attention to detail and a focused individual.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Available to work overtime as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and instructions to the team.
  • Ability to analyze data and performance metrics to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Outlook (email), MS Excel, MS Word, and payroll software.
  • Intermediate math skills.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent; associate or above degree preferred.
  • Process Improvement: Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
  • Develop, document, and utilize standardized methods to train new team members.

Pay

$25 hourly, depending on experience.
