About the role

The Gill Corporation-Maryland is a leader in providing high-quality, lightweight structural core materials to various industries including aerospace, marine, construction, rail, and industrial markets. Compensation for this role is $80K - $95K (commensurate with experience).

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and direct production activities to ensure adherence to quality, cost, delivery, and safety targets.
  • Foster a strong safety culture by promoting compliance with all safety policies and actively participating in continuous safety improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Planning—to support organizational goals and operational excellence.
  • Drive performance against key metrics, including cost, quality, delivery, and safety, while identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
  • Deploy manufacturing strategies, standard work, control systems, and performance metrics to monitor operations, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions related to productivity, capacity, quality, and labor utilization.
  • Onboard, train, and develop hourly employees to build a capable, engaged, and flexible workforce.
  • Manage area layout, material flow, and work cell organization to optimize efficiency and throughput.
  • Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations; promptly report and address unsafe conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a technical or manufacturing-related field; Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or manufacturing-related discipline preferred.
  • Four (4) years of experience in manufacturing, production, or a related industrial environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, planning, or scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools; experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access.
  • Acceptable vision test results (as applicable).
  • Must have English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, write, understand and communicate the company's operating procedures and policies.
