About the role

The Manufacturing Supervisor I, Formulation has functional responsibility for aseptic manufacturing operations, such as compounding, preparation, filtration, filling, and lyophilization in the SVP manufacturing department. You will supervise assigned manufacturing operations, including processing source materials, equipment and component preparation and sterilization, aseptic filtration, aseptic filling, lyophilization, inspection, and packaging.

• Report operational status to the next level of management and all affected peers daily.
• Review and update manufacturing documentation associated with the manufacturing areas.
• Provide cGMP, job tasks, and safety training for personnel in the manufacturing areas.
• Generate, update, and maintain area Standard Operating Procedures and Batch Production Records (BPRs).
• Ensure compliance with cGMP through observation, training, and auditing.
• Supervise hourly employee performance, including compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, and safety regulations.
• Perform deviation investigations related to assigned areas and implement corrective actions.
• Order production supplies and equipment required to manufacture products.
• Prepare production-monitoring reports and participate in product cost and budgeting analysis.
• Interview new employees and provide coaching and counseling to area personnel.
• Conduct performance evaluations and set objectives and performance standards for area personnel.
• Assist in the implementation of disciplinary action as needed.
• Analyze and recommend capital expenditures and efficiency improvements in manufacturing areas.
• Interact with supporting departments (e.g., Quality Assurance, Maintenance, PIC) to resolve production line problems promptly.
• Schedule validation of processes and equipment.
• Ensure all environmental monitoring limits are maintained in all areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, or a related hard science required.
• 2 years of related leadership experience in lieu of a specific hard science degree (degree still required) OR 4 years of solid pharmaceutical manufacturing or related supervisory experience in lieu of a degree.
• 6 months of related experience required.
• Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Pharmaceutical experience preferred.

Skills

• Ability to manage conflict and influence outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Interpretation of cGMP regulations.

Schedule

Weekend Nights: Friday – Sunday; Every Other Thursday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (on-site, full-time).

Pay

Hiring wage: $39.57 – $53.54 per hour + 15% shift differential, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
