Job Summary
The Manufacturing Supervisor provides leadership and direction for designated operations and team members. The Manufacturing Supervisor ensures that products are produced according to manufacturing/engineering specifications and forecasted demands.
Essential Job Functions
- Manages and sets production and work schedules; as well as monitors department workflow and adjusts resources as needed to accomplish objectives.
- Leads assigned team members to attain specific performance and development objectives, goals and expectations. Provides training, counsel and opportunity in the development of the team.
- Initiates, implements and documents problem solving and process improvement activities.
- Evaluate departmental jobs and activities to evaluate and eliminate risks.
- Train and coach employees in safe operations and behavior, administer corporate safety policies and procedures.
- Conducts periodic safety observations, audits, and reports out to employees based on the audit results.
- Manages data to maintain and produce accurate documentation of machine and part inventories, production reports, returned or repaired parts, and asset tracking.
- Conducts incident investigations to identify and correct root causes in a timely manner.
- Sets cost reduction measures to reduce material costs, labor and overhead costs.
- Track labor and optimize use of straight and overtime hours.
- Monitor and ensure that all employees are following all applicable food safety policies and procedures.
Education & Experience
- Associates Degree but Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Three years manufacturing and supervisory experience.
- Ability to run and program CNC and Lathe machines.
Competencies
- Strong MS Office Knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Enterprise 1 preferred.
- Able to learn and use in-house software applications.

- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Able to lead and motivate employees by guiding, training, and offering counsel.

- Understanding of safety regulations.
- Comfort with interpreting blueprints, schematics and other technical documents.
- Be able to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and/or calipers.
