This position is based in Huntington, WV, within our Primary Mill Department on the midnight shift.
Responsibilities
- Supervise shop employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
- Ensure reasonable provisions for the safety of each employee under your charge.
- Train and coach production staff on health and safety.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Continuously improve processes and outcomes.
- Handle production planning to meet company goals.
- Maintain proper inventory levels.
- Develop practices and processes to enhance productivity and employee engagement.
- Ensure effective employee relations, including coaching, development, and problem resolution.
- Manage departmental performance measures and provide regular progress reports to management.
- Set and manage department priorities.
- Troubleshoot issues or problems.
- Perform accident investigations.
- Administer and interpret labor agreements and respond to grievances.
- Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience as a Manufacturing Supervisor in a heavy industrial environment desired.
- Experience building best practices for health and safety in a production environment.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team to success.

Physical Demands
- Frequently moves about production facilities.
- Able to detect unsafe conditions from long distances.
